E: Online clips 34

We have reached advent. Here are some fun clips, a couple of cool ones and one touching story.

Shoppings carts with wheels roll. These guys did not think too much about it.
http://www.break.com/index/massive-shopping-cart-fail-by-two-morons.html

Trigger Happy TV have tons of fun hidden camera ideas. Here are two of them: Job interview with animals and Secret agent in train. Or simply watch the best of season 1.

The Matrix ping pong became a hit long ago. This new contribution with a couple fighting across the table is another highlight from the Japanese TV show.

Australian Nick Vujicic is no oridinary preacher. Even without arms and legs, he can achieve heaps. See one of the presentations or visit his blog.

X: In/Med på Max Manus!

My house mate Asbjørn, my good friend Kjetil and I will be a part of the movie Max Manus. The most recent trailer presents both Asbjørn (guy nr 2) and I (at the door) in a few-frame-long part of a assassination scene, conducted by seven nazi soliders; seven walker-ons. This produced a somewhat childlike excitement within.

---

Barnlig, men gøy.

It has been a while since my last update, I know. There are so many experiences and impulses, tasks and activities, ideas and thoughts in my life these days that I still need some time to process them all. Not to mention actually writing them down. My diary has lots of empty spaces that need to be filled. I will fill you in gradually.

For now, I present to you some laughs from the wide web of the world. If you are a male good at gymnastics, this is a way to grab the attention – with a smile.

There are lots of things we never see or hear about. Sometimes you see what you see, but do not hear what you think you hear. For instance the actual singing of Britney Spears performing live without the playback.

Asian TV, Japan in particular, is great when it comes to reality and comedy. Here are some backstreet pranks.

Test your awareness. How many passes does the white team make?

If that did not work, how about imitating the flexibility of this guy?

If you are ever to ice bathe, not too bad an experience in itself actually, please check the actual ice before jumping in.

I just viewed a lovely compilation of bad days at the office. Have a look. Or, if you are more into creative suggestion with too much time on your hands, try the telephone piano.

Models also work, and work hard. It is a tough profession, which tends to be looked down upon. No good. But, when things accidently slip up on the catwalk from time to time, it is hard not to smile.

Being a baby can also be hard, at least if the shaver works as good as this ad says it does. Have a look at the Fight for kisses.

I finish this entry of online goodies with a Norwegian parody of holidaying in the area around the Mediterranean Sea – also known as Syden (you must understand Norwegian language and culture to get this one).

Watch how an excellent performance of playing Super Mario Bros matches amazingly well with some Asian children hit song.

Have you ever seen ladder racing? Well, here is your chance.

I am fascinated how there is composed so many new songs all the time, simultaneously, by different artist all around the world. Sometimes, however, one cannot avoid bits of recycling. Some claim there is nothing but reusing happening today. Here is a an example of how six songs collide.

I miss Taco Bell, a Mexican fast food chain in the US. I also enjoy rap and originality. I present to you a mixture of all three.

Finally, a Norwegian soft news story. The senior high school year in Norway, before graduating (May 1-17), we celebrate, dress up in similar clothing matching the type of high school branch chosen, and go wild through a concept named ”russ”. This is said to be fairly unique for our northern country. Anyway, in the bigger cities you have vast parties where seniors from around the place can bring their customized cars, vans or busses with their own design, colors and music sound systems. Certain people (from Asker) chip in about 8000 dollars all in all. The richest kids (Bærum) display a 300,000 dollar bus. Way overkill. Insane.

Five filmed objects may set your creativity, abdomen (if laughing) or emotions in motion.

Have you tried Guitar Hero yet? The world record holder has, and the way he plays seems as if he has never done anything else.

The world strongest dad is a video tribute to the father who completed heaps of marathon and iron man-like competitions with and for his paralyzed son - finishing far better than average. Read the story and watch the touching video.

The following video also has a bit of touch, but then more in terms of full contact between a reporter and a snow sledge.

Beat boxing is cool. Literal beat boxing is funny. See the creative clip here.

America has got talent. And the best one has got the ability to make you wonder how on earth you can cut a man in half and make it look like it is for real.

Weekend web surfing should contain bits of recreation. A few video clips may do the trick.

I present to you an extreme talent of catching sunglasses OR a well done special effect video. Judge for yourself.

Have you even seen a candle cannon? No? Then check it out. http://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gif

Next, an example of great dancing skills and cooperation amongst filipino prisoners. You can't touch this.

English is spoken throughout the world, but not necessarily well spoken. See this confident singer in Bulgarian idol with her of Mariah Carey’s ”Without you”.

Finally, a charming hard rock fan with diapers.

Some say airport security is a security theatre for the passengers to feel safe. Chasers had a go at some limits in the area.

I think it is fun with yoyos, but will quickly get bored with the toy. The way these guys handle the threadbound item does not bore me a bit.

I have flown so many times that I have stopped really paying attention to the flight instruction before take-off. I would have loved to have a presentation similar to this one - at least every once in a while.

I could see myself being a creative soul in the advertisement industry. If so, I would know that I could work with content I found meaningful. Like this ad for the dove self-esteem fund.

Finally, I add a cool synposis of a 3-0 win the volleyballteam I coach, OSI H3, had against Myrer early in the season of 2007-08. The film is recorded and edited by our middle player René.

There will be more pictures, stories, thoughts and happenings reported in the near future. Easter is the foundation for the entire Christianity. But for now I share a bit of recreational video time-outs for the holiday side of things.

Let us begin with a four musical contributions.

The best way to reveal a playback performance: Fall of the stage :)

A great way of having fun with Star Wars: Have Darth Wader play the harmonica.

Ronan Atkins has a great selection of character: see the janitor with a(n invisible) hidden drumming talent.

You think you can break dance? Not after watching this video

I have saved the best for last this time. This frozen Grand Central stunt in New York is one of the coolest things I have seen in a while. A similar project was undertaken in London. I would really like have a go at this idea myself sometime. (freezing)

Need a break? Sunday is a day for resting and worship. I hereby post a few recreational glimpses picked from YouTube.com.

I am a volleyball player, but not so much a fan of watching it. But seeing people like Leonel Marshall in action will amaze anyone – regardless of sporting preference.
Speaking of volleyball, this compilation also have some neat moments.

But humans can impress with other moves as well. "Human jump rope" and a very efficient wheelbarrow swap are two examples. Not so impressive, but fairly humorous, is this guy tripping while attempting to jump higher than he can.
Speed skating is still not as popular as regular ice skating. But it is hard to forget the final lap of the 2002 olympic final.

Finally, an incredible story of a blind teenager’s way of overcoming his lack of sight (i.e. apparently NOT a handicap).

E: Online clips 25

Michael Moore’s Sicko attacks the American health system. I have not seen the movie, but I believe this segment about Norway was left out. Although he ridicules a bit with the way a few (far from all) prisoners are treated on their way to readjust to society, Moore idealizes our national advantages.

Britain got talents. One of them is the opera singer Paul Pott. A recent one is 6-year old Connie. She impressed me during her first appearance. She made it through to the final, and this clip shows her singing there.

A little less serios is this farting fellow appearing in a the Norwegian Friday night entertainment show "Senkveld med Thomas og Harald".

Another incident is this big parade-like happening where a pigeon is supposed to take off in the end. I could not help crack up, although things do not go as planned.

There are thousands of items sold on various tv-shop programs. Most presentations go really well, but every so often something is bound to fail. And when it does, it is repeated over and over again. Enjoy the ladder.

E: Online clips 24

Weekend is coming up, and what better way to celebrate than by a list of fascinating and humorous clips?

The last activity I have seen, executed on a board: ropeboarding.

If you want to continue to be impressed with ropes, I would advice watching this jump rope performence.

In Sweden, a program host once vommited on live TV. Poor girl.

The last three takes are made in Norway. Watch a life pass in 40 seconds, on this Norwegian ad for social security.

Kristian Valen is a Norwegian comedian, here doing impressions of various national artists.

Finally an evidence of how tough the TV journalist job can be. For those not knowing Norwegian, the inteviewed gets upset over the simplest, most logical questions of all, i.e. what is the book (of poems) about?

E: Online clips 23

There are two clips featuring the classical song Pachelbel's Canon in D, which you just cannot miss. One is an amazing el-guitar performance. The other is a hilarious stand-up gag with a slightly sarcastic approach.

Basketball slam-dunking is cool. The player in this clip does not feel the same way after knocking down the living marker in his attempt to impress the crowd.

Watching a compilation dishonoring fair play by looking stupid when faking injuries, can also be fun.

I can’t help be impressed by the effort people lay down mock some of the outburst of the American president.

I do not watch the singing contest Idol, but operasinging Paul Pott’s breakthrough actually moved me to tears. This is a real-time real-life small outsider's story to success.

More clips here.

E: Online clips 22

In these times of preperations for my final exam (other than defending my thesis), I put on another online clip entry to the list, if you need a break from whatever it is you are doing.

Beatboxing is way cool, especially if you for instance make it look like you are cooking sound.

When my back gets better, I will possibly wreck it again with learning to wall flip properly.

I will not, however, attempt a double backflip with a motorcycle.

If that does not scare you, maybe this will (funny compilation).

Funny is also this selection of amusing soccer moments.

Not so funny is that this sports reporter spoiled a proposal live on TV, although they seem to be all right and happy anyway.

Finally, to end with a laugh, watch this clip to why men should not babysit.

E: Online clips 21

The history and the past entries of this series, is quite interesting and/or laughable too.

As Christians can be fun, church can be a place for humorous events – both planned and unintentional.

Candid/hidden camera is often a great way of capturing real expressions for set up situations, some which are rally funny. Like this one, with people being set up to look like they steal tyres from a police car.

What you shall not film or set up in public, is breaking up with your girlfriend through a choir song in front of an entire mass of people just for the humiliation. Preferably do not break up, but if you must - never this way.

Rather, start singing for the joy of singing, from early on. See an stunning example from this 5-year-old rapper. Pretty impressive is also this beatboxing bird.

If music is not your thing, badminton might be, although few have the talent to outdo these guys.

Lastly talent can be displayed in technical editing skills too, or just a lot of patience and a bit of creativity. See the human skate to understand what I am talking about.

E: Online clips 20

To celebrate reaching the 20 mark with online clips entries, I will publish 10 selected links, rather than the average five.

First up is a technical sections. Your IP (internet protocol) address is a identification tag that than can trace your computer and location. If you want to hide your IP address, this clip shows how. Many people, including myself, uses a laptop as a primary/only computer/mac. Here is how the various components are put together.

So for a more critical section. I saw this the other day on solider misbehavior. I am sure more of this could be revealed if all other countries had the same amount of troops and cameras around, but the US army has used their quota on these things I think now. And if you have forgotten how lucky and well off you are, able to access the internet and able to read, you can see reminder here, labeled poverty.

To finish off, I thought a more fun bit would be suitable. But instead of amusing myself by hitting a knife in between your fingers, or appearing on a Japanese TV show while being chucked out of a trebuchet, I rather bungee jump (done it) or try jumping with a parachute. Fascination for the police squad voice man, Michael Winslow, is better entertainment. Or to have revealed how magician Cooperfield flies (keep in mind that by watching this, such tricks will not be as thrilling to watch no more).

The rest can be found in the compilation list.

E: Online clips 19

I generally dislike TV ads, but one of the ladder by Telenor (the biggest tele company in Norway) for increased braodband speed, had a pretty humurous tone. The dialogue, for non-Norwegian speakers:
Q: What are you doing?
A: Nothing
Q: Who do you think you are?
A: I am the scatman...

Then it is time to have a listen to what is called the world’s funniest laugh. If not the best, he sure has a way of making others crack up.

Bowling is fun to play, but not so fun to watch – unless you see bloopers happening.

Parodies are cool. This is a guy doing voices fairly well, but impresses me greatly with managing to do 101 different ones in less than four minutes.

Last up are two documentary style clips of how toothpicks and paintballs are made. I like these kind of bits of information.

The entire collection of clips can be found clicking here.

E: Crammed weekend

My Friday to Sunday had no less than five reunion-like happenings of remembrance.

* Last supervisor meeting this year. An hour after 10 am was more or less the beginning of my Christmas holiday. The remaining load of work is a bit alarming, but needs to be put aside while taking a long-needed time out. When returning in January I need to explore the field of religion sociology, according to my supervisor.

* Journalism student celebration. One of this year’s many Christmas dinner gatherings, was a semi-reunion of my journalism college class. About 40 of the then enrolled 60 students turned up for dinner (at the restaurant Mecca), followed by socializing in the club Sydöst (SouthEast). I proclaim that there are extremely few educations that can generate so interesting and wide-ranging what-have-you-been-up-to conversations as those going for journalism and media.

* Volleyball win. The final volleyball match for the year ended with an easy 3-0 win with horrible performances from both teams. Therefore, the match report is particularly short, but for once in English – in dedication of our leaving Italian player (I do not speak Italian and he is not very good in Norwegian). I played libero again, because of the many injuries we had.

This can be classified as a reunion as we have played this team twice before this fall and we met up as a team :)

* Family reunion. My brother with wife lives in Oslo. My parents and my sister with fiance all came to town for the weekend. Saturday they all came to our game. At night we went to “The Fast Show” by the humorous group Raske Menn (Fast men). This must be the funniest thing I have seen in a very long time. Creative, original, talented, diverse and energetic – with everything from skits to songs to audience interactions to charades. I easily recommend it over the other big comedy hit this fall, Team Eckbo – which I also would describe as a time and money well spent. I choose start my usage of embedded film clips with their most known skit; the world history in 5 minutes (in Norwegian):

Later we, the family, headed for the Italian restaurant Santinos. In a couple of weeks we will meet up again, then with my better half as well.

* Preperations for Malaysian arrival. Sunday was the day before and today is the day my girlfriend Darshini will be coming to Norway. She is currently in Vienna, and her final flight’s landing wheels will start rolling on Norwegian soil around 10:15 pm tonight. It will be one big climax, being seperated since June 21st (which adds up to 173 days apart!). Sunday was spent cleaning, packing and preparing the final bits upon arrival.

From tonight until January 10th my life will be occupied with a girl that is hopefully my very last girlfriend and my first (and only) partner for life. The month ahead will determine if things are as we think they are and that we are still willing to turn our lives upside-down for one another. The blog updates for the time to come might be less frequent than currently, as I will have better things to do :)

When the working gets tough, the fun gets going.

I like hip hop, and am amazed by rappers who can imitate other quick-mouth stars.

Commercials are mainly to convince and cell, but parodies can be really humourous. At least the manly PMS replacement pills is worth a look.

Priests and pastors baptizing have to be prepared for anything – also while baptizing.

Like hunting for men and a motherly care for women, I think finding harmless explotions cool, is a human instinct.

Birthdays is a common event to caputre on film. That is a main reason for having many viewable memories from them, and humorous ones from whom you do not even know.

There battle between democrats and republicans is tense. In this hearing, an opponent of the current president lets out his dissapointment.

See my collections of all online clips.

E: Online Clips 17

Starting today, I put all of this online clips in a list of its own, retrievable from the links menu to the right.

If you think soccer and volleyball are hard; don’t even think about trying this.

Remember the Colombian soccer goalie who did the amazing save against England? Well, a similar deal has been done in handball.

This campaign is my type of campaign; spreading spread peace, joy and love – through hugs.

There is nothing stopping you from be a grandparent and being cool at the same time.

I love traveling. So does Matt. He has danced through the world and made a really neat movie and website about it.

I had laser surgery on my eyes in Bolivia in January last year. If you plan to do it, I say go go go, but you may want to wait to watch this movie from an operation (not mine, but the lasik method is the one I used) until after you are done.
